"Why do today what you can do tomorrow?"

For a birthday boy

Tuesday, 3 April 2007, 1:49 am, YXN

Qn: What does the Y in YIXIN stand for?
Ans: YK

Kidding… That’s just a silly thing my cell peeps came up with during GEL one week…

Had a simple celebration for Yk’s 26th today… No cake, no flowers, no card, no presents even… Haven’t had to celebrate a boyfriend’s birthday in some time… (Haven’t had a boyfriend in some time too…) So I was totally caught offguard… Hopefully, the gift will come as soon as I find a suitable one…

He never once complained though…

We did today what we normally do on an evening out together… Overeat, look at funny things, sing silly songs in public, go toilet many times, and then both fall asleep on the train ride home with the music playing on my phone…

No matter how many times we do this, I never get tired… He’ll make me laugh with his silly antics, surprise me with his sudden appearances, impress me with his knowledge of everything and assure me with his words of love and comfort…

He may not be the most important person in my life (as Jesus & my family are) but he still is one of the most precious blessings given to me by God… And I wouldn’t trade it for anything else…

Happy Birthday Dearest… Next year I’ll do a better job… Promise!

Valentine’s Day

Thursday, 22 February 2007, 1:19 am, me

Some people have suddenly been asking me how was my day today. Maybe they think with my new status I would be spending it differently than I did from the year before.

Well ok so I did spend it differently - I went for a medical checkup at Suntec City. And here’s what I spotted.

New Starbucks!

There’s a new Starbucks at Suntec!

Entrance of e-life

Hmm… this is e-life. If the sign is right, Starbucks should be in there.

Stuff sold here

Stuff sold in here. (My apologies for the blur photo. Didn’t realise I moved as my phone’s screen was rather small)

Getting closer

Is that what I think it is right in front? Oh and there’s VideoPro on the right, Skylet’s off the photo on the left and directly on the right, a gaming shop with our favourite DS game poster!

Dom getting his pressie

Ducked into the gaming shop to get Dominic Soh a present.

Tada! Starbucks Coffee!

Ah ha! Starbucks at last! It’s a little small and confined and slightly clustrophobic, when compared to the one at the convention centre. But nonetheless, it’s the 4th Starbucks at Suntec!

Ugly Chicken Puff

Needing some fresh air, retreated to the outdoor Starbucks for some ugly chicken puff and coffee.

Cafe Verona

Mmm… Cafe Verona. The ideal coffee to describe this day.

Beeeeeeep

Sunday, 4 February 2007, 11:08 pm, me

I would say I’m a rather patient and gracious driver - at least when I’m not feeling angsty.

I give way to others, observe the alternate vehicle rule at lane merges (I would enforce my right of way too so don’t try cutting me off!) and am tolerant of ppl wanting to squeeze into my lane. After all how much advantage can you gain, or lose on Singapore roads?

But there is one type of drivers that I absolute cannot tolerate, and have no hesitation horning then till kingdom come. And that would be drivers who cannot drive.

I’m not talking about the slow and cautious drivers who “hogs” the road. Nor those who hesitate turning at the junction. In fact, these drivers should be praised as they are well aware of their limitations and are careful to ensure the safety of other road users.

And neither about those fast and impaitent drivers who weaves in and out of traffic. As long as you know what you’re doing then I’m fine with that.

What really ticks me off are drivers who can’t stay in lane! Especially at corners or bends!

It’s one thing if you’re driving a bus or long vehicle (and bus drivers are actually very good in keeping to lanes, just that their lenght might not always allow them to around bends), but there’s no excuse for a normal car to cross the dashed markings!

For example Paya Lebar road is now really bendy with the construction going on and there are drivers who simply drift into the adjacent lane. And it’s not like there’s no vehicles there and they want a good line. Nooo… There drivers are oblivious to the danger they impose.

And there’re those who want to make a U-turn and stick their car outside the turning lane thinking it’s alright to do so. If you’re one of those drivers let me tell you now that No! You’re not supposed to do that cos you’re a danger to vehicles going straight and if you get hit it’s obvious whose fault it is for sticking your car out of lane.

If a U-turn is allowed then there enough space in the turning lane to make the turn and if you still cannot make it then you’re not qualified to drive either! And if you can’t control you car enough to stay in lane then I suggest you slow down and not try to be smart and speed.

Really, such drivers shouldn’t be allowed on the roads. The danger they pose is just as great.

Seriously, if you can’t drive, then don’t.

Me Fat?

Saturday, 3 February 2007, 2:56 pm, me

Here’s Tyra Banks.

Tyra Banks

Recently due to some unflattering photos, she revealed her actual weight to be between 148 to 162 pounds (67 - 74 kg)

And you know what? I’m about the same weight as her! And at 5′10″ (1.78m) We’re the same height too!

Therefore I’m not fat.

My $9.50 Latte

Friday, 2 February 2007, 6:13 pm, me

Occasionally Spinelli will have this rather costly latte that comes with a free gift but I’d usually ignore it. Dunno why this time I gave the gift a second look.

Maybe it was the nice shimmery blue of the cover. Maybe it was the additional Discovery Channel notebook that came with it. Maybe I was too tired to think. Maybe it was… hmm…

Whatever the reason, I bought the $9.50 latte - with the free gifts of course.

Divine Boggle

Had Boggle for gel during the last cell. Would have been a divine “gel-o” if the sharing was from that book.

Can you find the word?
