Picture of You
Yi Xin forgot this song, so I’m posting it for her.
Brought to mind when trying to picture *ahem* her new present.
Anyway this song is remembered cos somehow God spoke through it to us during one morning devotion back in VJC.
“Why’d it take me so long just to find, the friend that was there all along.”
1.5
Have been wondering when will the counting end?
Looking at the ticket stub in my file reminds me of how we used to keep them for years, until they started fading, barely able to read the print anymore.
Drey
drey
n. the nest of a squirrel
To think that all these years I’ve been using it without knowing its meaning.
And that you never told me.
Lol.
Shower Me
Shower Me With Your Love
SurfaceMy heart is filled with so much love
And I need someone I can call my own
To fall in love, that’s what ev’ryone’s dreaming of
I hold this feeling oh so strong
Life is too short to live alone
Without someone to call my own
I will care for you, you will care for me
Our love will live forever(Chorus:)
Shower me with your love
Shower me with the love that I long for
Shower me with your love
Shower me with the love I’ve been waiting forI close my eyes and pray all my wishes come true
Ev’ry night I go to sleep
Until you’re mine, I’ll wait for you endlessly
Can’t you see
Fairy tales, they do sometimes come true
If you believe, it could happen to you
Like the stars that shine way up in the sky
Our love will live forever(Repeat chorus)
Like the stars that shine way up in the sky
Our love will live forever
Live forever(Repeat chorus)
Shower me with your love
Shower me with the love I’ve been waiting for
Stepped into the cafe at SAFRA Mount Faber and heard this song playing. Really brings back memories.
The last day
It was this day, one year ago.
A lot has happened, a lot had happened.
Some I remember, some I forget.
But it is that very day, which in my mind still remains.
To clear it seems, to clear it feels.
Do I need to forget, or do I not?
Do I want to forget, or do I not?
Maybe some day I will, or maybe never.
Whichever the case, I hoped I’ve moved on; I want to move on.
To make better memories of the days to come
To someday look back and be able to smile
But can that be found in the present?
How long more will it take?
Well Lord you know all things
So where do we go from here?
Anyway, Happy Halloween y’all
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
Saw a trailer before Episode 3 which looked familar. Was sure I have never seen it before - due to my prolonged absence from the theatres - felt like a deja vu until they got to the part about the mysterious door. Then it hit me.
It was one of the greatest fairy tale classics of all times. It was so long ago I can hardly remember the story. Belonged to my cousin I believe as were most of the books I read back then. C S Lewis was just great. Move over Enid, you don’t stand a chance.
Even though it’s a must watch, as with all books made into movies, there will be differences enough for fans to cry foul. But don’t think of it as C S Lewis’ movie, think of it as a particular interpretation, the director’s view of the story. Because stories will always live in your imagination, just as Aslan’s voice will always be uniquely yours. So let no movie or animation take that away.
Therefore read the story first, build your own world, then watch the movie with an open mind, and be secretly amused when the director’s imagination and interpretation cannot be compared to yours.
“Someday you will be old enough to start reading fairy tales again.” - I think the time is now.
It has been six months…
…but it still seemed like yesterday.
Here Fishy Fishy Fishy
Juz’s post just happen to remind me of that episode too. I can still remember vividly all the episodes on Mike’s archive. Still remember those Saturday mornings years ago at my Nanny’s place, watching Sesame Street with coffee and “you tiao” for breakfast. I guess Sesame Street is something our generation grew up with.
Ernie and Bert was one of my favourite routines. How mishevious Ernie will poke fun at serious Bert with the routine usually ending with the famous “ke ke ke ke ke”. Did you know that Ernie was voiced by Jim Henson? That voice of his makes all Ernie’s songs sound so innocent and childlike, it just escapes the actual world around us. Whatever happened to the sweet innoncence of kids these days?
