Beeeeeeep
I would say I’m a rather patient and gracious driver - at least when I’m not feeling angsty.
I give way to others, observe the alternate vehicle rule at lane merges (I would enforce my right of way too so don’t try cutting me off!) and am tolerant of ppl wanting to squeeze into my lane. After all how much advantage can you gain, or lose on Singapore roads?
But there is one type of drivers that I absolute cannot tolerate, and have no hesitation horning then till kingdom come. And that would be drivers who cannot drive.
I’m not talking about the slow and cautious drivers who “hogs” the road. Nor those who hesitate turning at the junction. In fact, these drivers should be praised as they are well aware of their limitations and are careful to ensure the safety of other road users.
And neither about those fast and impaitent drivers who weaves in and out of traffic. As long as you know what you’re doing then I’m fine with that.
What really ticks me off are drivers who can’t stay in lane! Especially at corners or bends!
It’s one thing if you’re driving a bus or long vehicle (and bus drivers are actually very good in keeping to lanes, just that their lenght might not always allow them to around bends), but there’s no excuse for a normal car to cross the dashed markings!
For example Paya Lebar road is now really bendy with the construction going on and there are drivers who simply drift into the adjacent lane. And it’s not like there’s no vehicles there and they want a good line. Nooo… There drivers are oblivious to the danger they impose.
And there’re those who want to make a U-turn and stick their car outside the turning lane thinking it’s alright to do so. If you’re one of those drivers let me tell you now that No! You’re not supposed to do that cos you’re a danger to vehicles going straight and if you get hit it’s obvious whose fault it is for sticking your car out of lane.
If a U-turn is allowed then there enough space in the turning lane to make the turn and if you still cannot make it then you’re not qualified to drive either! And if you can’t control you car enough to stay in lane then I suggest you slow down and not try to be smart and speed.
Really, such drivers shouldn’t be allowed on the roads. The danger they pose is just as great.
Seriously, if you can’t drive, then don’t.

Haha… actually I posted this on the way home. And it’s not just that car, it’s all such drivers in general. Grr.
