Gender and stuff
Went for my first tutorial last Tuesday and got to meet the other members of my group. Ok well there was only one other member whom I didn’t know as the rest were either absent or they’re my friends.
Anyway the new friend of ours turned out to be a rather interesting girl, only that erm… well… she wasn’t really a she. Not those gay kind but… ah you get what I mean. (Our tutor calls him by his male name, as in his matric card… so weird)
I think it’s quite interesting to be able to get to know someone like that. We’ve all heard about people like that but how often do you actually get to meet one? Not that I’m being a busybody and more than just curiosity but I feel that we should learn to understand others, though it might not mean we condone it.
That’s what this world needs. More understanding. When was the last time we actually tried to understand things from another’s perspective? To really find out their feelings, needs, concerns and what they have been through?
So I hope I’ll be able to understand more from our new friend, and that he she wouldn’t mind sharing with us. He she probably gets that all the time.

On a simliar note, I was having dinner at Chinatown market that night and went to order chee kwek for the table. Since there was someone being served, I turned to the adjacent stall to order a cup of sugarcane juice while standing in line.
While paying for my juice, the chee kwek aunty addressed me as “小姐”! Ahh… it took me quite a while to realise she was calling me. Before you think of any weird stuff it’s the hair. Well it should be the hair. Not her fault lah, though she must have been somewhat embrassed.
