New No. 1
It just ended.
I take back what I said about the semifinal replacing the finals.
The match was a real stunner. Amazing rallies with both players having their moments, with the balance of the match going back and forth between the both of them.
The spectators were so worked up that they started a wave that went round and round the small staduim, delaying the start of the 9th game in the 4th set (4-4). Never had I seen such excitment and tension in a match before. And after losing a triple-break point and a double set-point, Puetra sent the ball flying just over the line, making Nadal the new World No. 1 player in tennis.
Nadal winning in his debut to the French Open, ousting Federer from his throne of 70 weeks*. Tennis is going to be exciting.
Update: Just checked that both Nadal and Federer are now tied as World No. 1*.
