And it is all over
Yup officially the exams are over and the holidays begin. Well actually it didn’t even feel like they have started. That’s cos there’s nothing to study or prepare for any of my papers this sem. Really, it’s not because I don’t want to but it’s cos there isn’t any to.
There wasn’t any point mugging cos it’s open book, which questions will not ask for answers found in the notes; the concepts being tested are those we already so familar with, provided you have not been sleeping throughout the semester; and it’s a case of whether you can answer within time or not.
Really exams are not a good benchmark of your understanding and knowledge. Scoring well might imply so but the converse is not true. Well they’re all crap anyway. Why work out problems that the lecturer has answers to? Effort should be spent on problems yet unanswered.
Oh well.. back to slacking anyway. heh
Evolution Favours Infancy
Waikay wrote an article ‘Evolution Favours Infancy’ for Singapore Watch, his very first maiden entry there, and someone recommended the article to tomorrow.sg. Listen to him. He has wise words to share
(He also ‘hacked’ in and added his author description while posting his words of wisdom. Heh.)

When’s Earth Day?
Screenshot of Google.com today.
International Earth Day 2005 was supposed occur on March 20, 2005, at 7:33 AM EST, in line with the Spring Equinox, the first day of spring1. Plans for its first celebarations were announced at the November 1969 UNESCO Conference on the Environment. The first Earth Day was celebrated on March 21, 1970 in the City of San Francisco and other Northern California Cities. On 21 March 1971, UN Secretary General U Thant rang the United Nations Peace Bell, starting the annual celebration of the Earth Day at United Nations2.
However in 1970, a U.S. Senator from Wisconsin, Gaylord Nelson, proposed the first nationwide environmental protest on 22 April3, starting Earth Day 1970, which to this day, the United States chooses to observe instead.
Well Americans are always wanting to do things their own way, not wanting to concur with international bodies. And people still wonder why anti-America sentiments are so strong.
