Bye bye tables
Am making the transition from formatting using tables to using CSS. Being an old school designer who makes webpages using your friendly text editor, tables are getting rather hard to keep track when not using a WYSIWYG editor. Therefore decided to sit down today to at least convert the layout to CSS. Found several 3 column templates on the net but none could be used without modifications. Progress was slow due to being hit with the flu bug during camp. Wasn’t having a fever but feel woozy. After several attempts and finally learning how the CSS box model works, I ditched all the web templates and wrote my own. Was so much quicker than trying to search for working templates. Should have decided to write it myself earlier. Oh well it’s still completed in the end. btw, IE6 still doesn’t know how to properly display float according to W3C standards so too bad for you IE users out there. More…
