Singaporeans need etiquette lessons
Just came back from an SSO Chamber Ensemble Concert: Schubert’s Quintet in C. Fishie got 2 free tix cos her ex-conductor is the violist. w00t. It’s been such a long time since I’ve been in VCH, my previous visit being on the stage so that’s like about 5yrs!
Well having not been attending any concerts during that hiatus, I was rather surprised that there wasn’t any applause after the first movement. (To the uninitiated, it is not appropriate to clap between movements) The performers did look a bit awkward at the slience. Perhaps they too were as surprised as I was. I was thinking that we all suddenly got educated due to the government recent intrest in exposing art to the public, but was only to be disappointed when a few buggers started clapping between the next movements. At least the majority knew enough not to follow the uninitiated few. Oh well, I guess there can never be a concert, at least not in sg without a few of them. IE is Non-Compliant
It’s a known fact that Mircosoft Internet Explorer does not comply to W3C standards for displaying webpages. As such I am not going to bother with any misalignments and colour mismatch caused by Internet Explorer cos this page views fine in FireFox. It’s about time you IE users switch to a better alternative like Firefox or Opera.
